Dr Linoy A Tharakan,  has  a teaching and research experience of more than 19 years, is currently working as a faculty in Electronics Science in the Department of Computer Applications at Mar Thoma Institute of Information Technology, under the University of Kerala.   

He  has completed his Masters in Electronics from Barkatullah University. He has received his PhD in Electronics from Bharathiar University Coimbatore in 2017.

He is currently Editorial Board member RESEARCH REVIEW International Journal of Multidisciplinary(UGC Listed Journal) e-ISSN Number: 24553085, Editor and Reviewer of Journal of Management and Innovative Information Technology, ISSN  2395-4981.

He is the Life Member  Kerala Academy of Sciences,   Associate member- Universal Association of Computer and Electronics Engineers (UACEE)  and Member- International Association of Engineers(IAENG). He has published two  books  and he has  wrote two  book chapters in Springer and IGI Global. 

He has more than 10 National and 13 International Research papers in  on his credits in Scopus Indexed journals . He has participated in 6 national and International conferences/ Seminars and Symposia including IEEE conferences.  He has been invited as a Resource person in the National conference on Emerging trends in Computer technology ETCT 2015. He is currently researching in cryptographic data handling in IoT devices.

His research interest includes wireless sensor networks, Data Security and compression in sensor networks, power management in WSN networks etc.
